With just one year left on his contract at Chelsea, Pedro could easily have been sold this summer.
At 31 years of age, this could have been the ideal time for both parties to go their separate ways, yet the Blues’ transfer ban has complicated a few things.
Pedro wasn’t a regular under Maurizio Sarri, but still impacted the team with 13 goals and five assists in 52 games in all competitions when called upon, and he’s rather happy with how things are going.
In fact, he has no real interest in looking anywhere else right now, as he explained to the press, relayed by RTVC, while pay a surprise visit to a children’s hospital in the Canaries this week.
The forward also explained that while he wasn’t retiring from international football, he knew his time with the Spain national team was coming to a close as those in charge focus start focusing on younger players.
As for what the future holds beyond Chelsea for Pedro, a return to where everything started (where he was born) is something he has thought about a lot.
He said: “I’ve always said I wanted to play at CD Tenerife at least for one year. It would make my family and I really happy, but I still have a year left at Chelsea”.
