Chelsea loanee Lucas Piazon has attended an event at a Portuguese school this week, and had a little chat with the local media.
The winger was loaned by the Blues to Rio Ave at the start of the season, and is set to spend a two-year loan spell at the club.
Speaking to newspaper O Jogo, Piazon was asked if he’s planning to fulfil the time set in his contract, and he claims to have no doubts about it.
“My contract is for a two-year loan and I’m here to fulfil those two years,” Lucas Piazon told O Jogo.
The player even explained why he’s been loaned on a two-year deal this time, and recalled the good form he had during his spell at Fulham.
“The only club where I also spent two years was at Fulham and it was where I had my best time on loan. After the second or third loan, I always said that I didn’t feel like spending just one year in a country, because one year is not enough for a player to adapt.”
Speaking of Coronavirus, it’s been mentioned that the next fixtures of the Portuguese league will be played behind close doors, and Piazon says this will be a new experience for him.
“I never played behind closed doors, but it must be a strange feeling. We usually do training games behind closed doors, but an official game is different. It doesn’t change anything, let’s go in the same way.”
Piazon has four goals and one assist in 14 appearances for Rio Ave so far. His contract with Chelsea runs until 2022.
