As you will know by now, Hakim Ziyech is currently having the time of his life with Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar, reminding everyone why Chelsea signed him in the first place.
Still, it’s fair to say the move from Ajax to Stamford Bridge hasn’t really worked out for him, failing to impress both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, with the latter rarely using him since taking over the Blues.
Milan have long been interested, but a deal always seemed that little bit out of reach for financial reasons, leaving the forward stuck in London for a while.
This looks set to change, however, with many claiming a transfer could be struck in January in hope the player continues his World Cup form at club level, just not at Chelsea.
Gazzetta dello Sport have a big article on it on Friday, claiming Ziyech ‘lost his taste for the game’ with the Blues, where he has been ‘sad’.
The belief is that Milan are ‘doing the math’, thinking about a €15m package for both loan and purchase, which is seen as an ‘honest figure for a talented player’.
That being said, Chelsea are also very aware of how well their player is doing in Qatar, and they will also ‘be able to slightly raise their requests’.
Something to keep an eye on as the tournament progresses, with Morocco set to face Portugal on Saturday at 3pm.
