Thibaut Courtois should fasten himself in safely, because he’s firmly become a part of the David De Gea to Real Madrid rumour and will be a continual sideshow between now and the summer.
The opinion in Spain is pretty much that Courtois is aware he’d be second choice to De Gea, but that the Chelsea player would jump at the chance, with Spanish newspaper Marca pointing out: ‘Thibaut Courtois wants to live in Madrid’.
Marca believe Courtois also wants to play for Real Madrid, and to spice things up a little, the newspaper claim: ‘The Chelsea goalkeeper has commented in the dressing room on more than one occasion that emissaries of the blancos have informed him of Real Madrid interest.’
On top of that, Courtois’ ‘inner circle’ and said to be aware of the player’s desire for the move.
Marca, like other Spanish newspapers, say Courtois’ Chelsea deal ends in June 2018, but that’s ignoring that the Premier League club announced an extension in 2014, which runs until 2019.
One may wonder if Marca and others are so convinced Courtois will be relatively cheap because his contract ends in 2018, when that’s not the case, how they can be so clued up on other aspects.
