Hurriyet report Galatasaray are edging closer to signing Gary Cahill from Chelsea.
Cahill was left out of Maurizio Sarri’s squad for yesterday’s victory over Newcastle United as talks continue over his exit.
According to Hurriyet, Cahill is open to a move to Galatasaray and the 32 year old defender is expected, by some in the Turkish media, to join the Istanbul club before the Super Lig transfer deadline on Friday.
Chelsea are also reported to be content will Cahill leaving Stamford Bridge and according to Hurriyet, it’s only a matter of time before the England international joins Galatasaray.
Cahill is unlikely to be a regular starter under Sarri this season and the former Bolton defender could be forced to join another club to still get enough games to satisfy him.
Despite being part of the England squad for this summer’s World Cup, Cahill didn’t make an appearance and may struggle to get games under Gareth Southgate if he’s not playing for his club.
