Unable to get Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham, Inter have now turned their attention to Trevoh Chalobah at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old is now a target for the Serie A side to bolster their defence, and while they seem to be favouring the experience of Francesco Acerbi for now, they could easily make a move for the Blues player in the near future.
What they have on their side are two important points, with the first already reported on Monday, which is Romelu Lukaku likes him and was the one to suggest the Chelsea defender to his current club.
That continues to be a topic of conversation on Tuesday, with Gazzetta dello Sport explaining Chalobah is ‘the perfect candidate and is expecting news from London’.
Described as ‘one of Lukaku’s best English friends’, the Chelsea man has ‘already made it known that he would fly to Milan’, but it would have to be on loan.
That is a ‘knot’ that needs to be solved, because we all know the Blues never make this stuff easy, regardless of their relationship with Inter.
Still, Chalobah ‘receives the maximum of approval’ at Inter these days, making him a viable candidate for a late Chelsea exit in the next week or so.
