While it has yet to be made official, Chelsea’s Pedro is expected to be an AS Roma player next season.
The forward has agreed to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2019-20 campaign, but once that is over, he will head off for a new adventure.
He announced that a while back, and despite speculation he could head to exotic destinations, he appears to have decided to remain in a competitive European league.
In fact, Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday report that ‘those well informed’ have heard that Pedro is ‘already asking for advice to find a house in Rome’.
The Spaniard is described as ‘virtually the first signing’ of Roma’s summer transfer market, and he will be announced ‘later’ so as to ‘not distract the squads’, since both Chelsea and the Serie A side still have a lot to play for.
Pedro will put pen to paper to a two year deal with an option for a third worth around €3.5m/year, allowing him to remain well paid while still playing at a high level in a league where he can fight for Champions League football.
