With half the Premier League seemingly trying to beat Barcelona to the signing of Leeds United’s Raphinha, it’s hard to keep up with everything that’s going on.

What we do know is that most of the big London clubs are after him, but it’s Chelsea who have made the latest push to sign the Brazilian.

That’s according to journalist Gianluigi Longari, who revealed on Twitter that the Blues have presented a new offer to the player (but not to Leeds).

He first made it clear that Chelsea’s latest contract proposal ‘on personal terms is higher than all those received so far’, suggesting Todd Boehly is keen to gift the Elland Road star to Thomas Tuchel this summer.

Then came a follow-up tweet, revealing that the Blues have offered the Leeds winger a deal worth ‘around £6m/year’ (about £115k/week), and that the agreement is now ‘one step away’.

Whether Raphinha, who was seemingly desperate to play for Barcelona rather than stay in England, accepts this remains to be seen, but let’s not forget Chelsea also still have to then agree a deal with Jesse Marsch’s side.
