As you will be sorely aware by now, looking at all the different names being linked with a move to Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel wants a new centre-back at the club.
With Fikayo Tomori’s future seemingly in Milan should they finally decide to activate the €28m purchase clause and Thiago Silva hardly getting any younger, new bodies could come in, with targets already in place.
One of those, according to Calciomercato, is Gianluca Mancini.
The website reveal that both Chelsea and Manchester United ‘have been moving’ for the player ‘in recent weeks’, and while the Serie A side don’t want to sell him, they also could do with money.
Seen as a ‘pillar for the future’, Mancini’s price tag doesn’t appear to have been fully defined yet, but Calciomercato explain that amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Premier League clubs such as the Blues should be able to ‘come up’ with around €30m.
Whether that’s enough remains to be seen, but it’ll certainly make the Italians think, especially just one year after paying Atalanta around £11.7m for his services.
