If you’ve followed our coverage of Chelsea in general over the past few months, you will be aware that Tiemoué Bakayoko isn’t exactly having a good time in Milan.
The Frenchman was sent back to the Serie A club on a two-year loan after a successful spell there a few years ago, but Stefano Pioli simply hasn’t been convinced.
This has led to the Chelsea man to be left out of the squad for the best part of 2022, which suggests the Italians want to cut their agreement with the Blues short.
There’s been a number of reports on this already, and this is pushed again by Gazzetta dello Sport, who put it in simple terms: Bakayoko has ‘disappeared’ since the game against Spezia, leading to 12 league games without featuring in the slightest.
This is a ‘technical choice’ by Pioli ‘that has never been questioned’, because Milan want to get rid of him this summer, since there is no longer a ‘desire to redeem the player from the English club’.
In fact, Bakayoko ‘will return’ to Chelsea at the end of the current campaign, and his ‘agents are in Milan to discuss it with the Milan management’.
He simply has ‘no space’ in their squad, whether it be now or in the future, meaning the Blues will now have to deal with him once again; something they had hoped would never be the case again when agreeing the initial deal with the Italians.
