Chelsea are reportedly expected to make a bid for Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva, to ‘satisfy’ their manager.
Italian website CalcioMercato claims the player has been on Antonio Conte’s wishlist for a while, and as the manager doesn’t think the summer additions so far at Chelsea will be enough to improve his squad, he could go for the 30-year-old.
The outlet claims Candreva would be very useful in a season where Chelsea will have more competitions to play, and could be an option to help wingbacks Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso.
Inter spent €22m to take the player from Lazio last summer, so they wouldn’t be keen on losing him for less than that after only an year. But according to CalcioMercato, Chelsea aren’t afraid of the demands, and should be making an attempt before the window closes.
There doesn’t appear to be anything especially new here. Chelsea have been repeatedly linked with Candreva, and it pops up every couple of days or so.
Candreva made 45 appearances for Inter last season, mostly as a right winger. He scored 8 goals and made 11 assists.
