Chelsea are reportedly ready to make another approach for Konstantinos Manolas.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Chelsea would make an irresistible offer for the player, and in normal conditions, it would be hard for AS Roma to turn it down as well. The problem is that there’s a difficult situation for Roma to sell the player now.

Until August 31st, the Italian side would have to pay 50% of the player’s sale to his former club Olympiacos, due to a clause in his transfer from the Greek club in 2014. So Roma would prefer to wait until the winter market to seal the deal.

However, Antonio Conte demands the player to join Chelsea now, and will keep pressing to get what he wants. It’s hard to see a way how this one works out, unless an agreement is found with Olympiacos, or some kind of loan is used to try and circumvent the clause, if that’s possible.

Manolas was also linked to Manchester United and Arsenal lately, with his agent hinting that the player was far from reaching an agreement for his new contract at Roma.
