While it appears to mostly be a waiting game when it comes to the Chelsea exit of Romelu Lukaku, that doesn’t mean clubs have stopped talking to each other.

The Belgian has made it clear he only wants to go to Juventus, as recalled by Alfredo Pedulla for Sport Italia, after he managed to upset the entirety of the city of Milan, and continues to turn away offers from Saudi Arabia.

That isn’t the scenario that Chelsea want, since they would get more money from the Middle-Eastern side, and they now have to wait for Dusan Vlahovic to be sold.

If that doesn’t happen, then Lukaku will have to make a big decision about his future, because a stay at Stamford Bridge seems out of the question for the time being.

Still, Pedulla reckon something could happen, but it won’t be just yet, despite the two clubs still having discussions about the striker.

He said: “Today [Thursday], there was a very long direct contact between Chelsea and Juventus. Lukaku wants and waits for the Bianconeri, and continues to reject any other offer. Al-Hilal made him a new offer but he again said no. Chelsea asked Juventus to come out [with an offer].”

Therefore, Juventus know what needs to be done, but they need to wait to get the money to do it, at the same time as Chelsea seem to be losing patience.
