Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all keeping an eye on Cagliari centre back Sebastian Walukiewicz.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the Premier League trio are among those keen on the 20-year-old.

Walukiewicz has been a regular for the Serie A side this season, making ten appearances in all competitions and starting all nine of their league games so far.

The Polish centre-back has been highly rated for several years after impressing at the Under 20 World Championship two years ago, where he ‘exhibited qualities’ as a centre back that ‘would delight in the Premier League’.

The newspaper explains Walukiewicz has ‘physique, the attitude on high balls but also technique’, skills that haven’t gone unnoticed around Europe, with sides in England, Spain and Germany all keen.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United ‘keep an eye’ on him according to their information, with Inter Milan also showing interest in Italy.

All of those suitors will find it difficult to get him out of the club, though, with the player signing a new deal until 2024 yesterday.

That announcement was seen as having only one interpretation, that Cagliari have no intention of selling Walukiewicz at this moment in time.

Of course, that could always change if any of the aforementioned clubs were to make a serious offer, but there’s no hint of that happening.

From the three Premier League clubs it’s easy to see why Liverpool are interested given their defensive crisis at the minute, they were also linked with the player back in 2017.

Manchester United could also do with a new centre back, although they would probably be looking for someone a little more experienced to partner Harry Maguire.

Chelsea, meanwhile, definitely don’t need a centre back but they do have a strong history of signing young talent for the future, so their interest is hardly surprising either.

At the minute it seems none of the three are pursuing a move, but Walukiewicz may be one to keep an eye on in the coming years.
