It appears that Chelsea are taking the idea of signing André Onana from Inter Milan very seriously, as they are readying their first move.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who explain that the Blues are focusing ‘on just one name’, and that’s the Cameroon international.

Chelsea are still undecided when it comes to their number one goalkeeper, with Edouard Bendy regressing despite some great initial performances, and that’s where Onana comes in.

The newspaper state the Premier League side will send ‘observers’ to watch him against Juventus on Wednesday ‘after studying him closely’ against Porto and Benfica, but that’s not all they will do.

It’s added that ‘intermediaries appointed’ by Chelsea will ‘enter the headquarters in Viale della Liberazione to explain how much they like’ Onana.

They will do so this week, and could push that forward as early as Wednesday before the game, and they are also ‘ready to put Kepa on the plate’ to try and smooth the transition.

Despite interest from Manchester United, it is Chelsea who have taken ‘the most decisive steps’ to sign Onana, and this decision ‘will not change’ with the likely arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.

The €40m figure ‘does not scare’ Todd Boehly, and following the first meeting, ‘the negotiation will take place in the coming weeks’.

As for Kepa in all this, he’s a name Inter cannot ignore, especially when put in front of them on a silver platter, and the Growth Decree could help soften any salary impact he might have on their wage budget.
