For a while, it seemed that Arsenal would have a clear path to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, but now Chelsea have entered the fray.
The idea the Blues were keen has floated around for a day or so now, but AS in Spain have now learned the extent of their interest.
The Spanish newspaper state Chelsea are ‘very interested’ in the Brazilian forward and ‘will try to close his signing this summer’.
However, the offer isn’t going to arrive just yet, as there is first a need for the ‘institutional situation’ to settle after the recent takeover.
And it’s ‘precisely these steps that could delay Chelsea’s offer for the player’, who appears to be on his way out of Pep Guardiola’s side this summer.
In fact, the Blues have already reached out to Jesus and ‘informed that there will be a formal offer’ for him in the (likely near) future.
For now, though, ‘time is running against the Stamford Bridge team, who are still unclear when they will be able to undertake the operation’ to try and bring the forward to Chelsea.
