Liverpool star Luis Diaz has shown his commitment to hit the ground running next season by training during his holidays.

Footballers around the world are currently enjoying their summer holidays after a hectic season that has been more condensed than usual due to the lingering ramifications the COVID pandemic had on the football schedule.

Liverpool’s squad, in particular, will be enjoying their break more than most, though, after a season which saw them play in every possible game across the year.

Their success in reaching the finals of all domestic cup competitions as well as the Champions League, plus a season-long title campaign, meant the Reds endured a far busier schedule than they probably would have liked.

Diaz joined them in January but was a regular until the end of the season, which means he played less than the rest, and it seems he’s not in need of some downtime just yet.

Journalist Pipe Sierra reports that the Liverpool star has taken time out of his holidays to train with former club Barranquilla in his native Colombia.

Now, we’re not sure what Liverpool’s medical department will make of that, given their carefully planned schedules for the player’s holidays.

Perhaps Diaz’s trip to his former club was just a friendly training one more than anything intense, but knowing the player, that’s unlikely to be the case.

He’s shown nothing but 100% commitment to the cause since his arrival at Anfield, and this feels like a further demonstration of his efforts to be in top shape and start next season in full gear.
