Having officially lost Antonio Rüdiger to Real Madrid and seemingly set to face the same fate when it comes to Andreas Christensen and his move to Barcelona, Chelsea needs centre-backs, and they need them quickly.
Jules Koundé appears to be a favourite of Thomas Tuchel’s, already wanting the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge last year, but there are other names the Blues appear to be targeting.
One of those is Milan Skriniar, currently at Inter, where he had a very good campaign under Simone Inzaghi.
A few reports have surfaced already, and following news from Le Parisien that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the Slovakian, Foot Mercato sought their own information and brought their findings to the table.
As well as backing up their colleagues when it came to the Ligue 1 champions wanting Skriniar, they add Chelsea are ‘very interested’ in the Inter defender.
In fact, he would be ‘one of the priorities of Thomas Tuchel this summer’.
Regarding what Inter think about all this, it’s said that ‘a sale isn’t to be excluded’ since his contract currently expires in 2023, but with Alessandro Bastoni also being courted by clubs, a decision will need to be made.
Basically, if one goes, the other will stay, so it’s now up to Chelsea to see if they can be the first to sign Skriniar, forcing Inter to keep the Italian going forward.
