Barcelona were interested in signing Willian in 2018, but the transfer didn’t take shape as the La Liga winners failed to agree a deal with Chelsea.
On Saturday, we carried a report from Mundo Deportivo, who explained the Blaugrana are still looking at the possibility of signing the 31-year-old on a free transfer next summer and will start talks with him as early as January.
The Catalan newspaper also explained the Brazil international has no plans to renew his contract at Stamford Bridge, which expires in 2020.
Calciomercato.it now drags Juventus into the transfer mix and claims the South American still appears on the Old Lady’s radar. They also explain Frank Lampard’s side doesn’t have the will to offer their player a new deal.
The Italian website says Chelsea aren’t interested in offering a new deal to Willian, while Mundo states the latter has no plans to sign an extension.
Calciomercato.it states the Turin club have been following the wideman for ‘some time’, particularly via their sporting director Fabio Paratici.
The report also talks about Barca’s interest, and with Juventus now at the window it remains to be seen who will win the battle for Willian.
