Back in September, we covered the news coming out of Belgium and Holland surrounding the fitness of Charly Musonda.
The Chelsea forward was sent out on loan to Vitesse in the Eredivisie, but an injury picked up in practice saw him end up at the centre of conflicting reports.
Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium stated the injury was fairly innocuous, claiming he’d only be out for ‘four weeks’ at most, but De Gelderlander had another version.
They revealed the setback would be longer, explaining it wasn’t his shin but his knee, and he would miss ‘a few months’ of football.
Vitesse’s manager, Leonid Slutsky, called the whole thing ‘very disappointing’ and now there are serious doubts about his future at the Dutch club.
Het Laatste Nieuws are the ones reporting it this time, and they aren’t that optimistic, reporting the player is still at Chelsea nursing his injury, and the recovery is ‘taking more time than expected’.
They also state it’s currently unknown if Musonda will return to Vitesse in January despite there being six months left on his loan deal.
Yet another failed loan for the youngster, who is starting to accumulate them after his spells at Real Betis and Celtic failed to produce any meaningful game time either.
