Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Chelsea forward Willian, but have turned down the opportunity.
Willian is enjoying something of a resurgence at Stamford Bridge this season, playing a significant role despite the influx of youngsters under Frank Lampard.
His contract expires next summer, though, and there have been suggestions that the 31-year-old is analysing his options before committing to a further stay in London.
Barcelona have been linked on numerous occasions with a move, with Willian a player they looked at before he went to Chelsea and have kept an eye on during his time in the Premier League.
However, it is Real Madrid who have been ‘offered’ the chance to sign the Brazilian, according to Defensa Central.
The website, which is a Madrid orientated, says the Brazilian is touting himself around to see if there would be anyone interested in him should he become available on a free in the summer.
One such proposal went to Madrid but was quickly rejected by the La Liga giants. At 31 Willian doesn’t fit into Madrid’s plans, even if he’s arriving on a free.
They also have a plethora of forwards to choose from at present, particularly wide men, meaning a move for the Chelsea man is not in their interest.
They are instead going to deal with Gareth Bale, aka sell him, and then focus on the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Jadon Sancho, leaving Willian to look elsewhere.
