Two days ago, we carried a report from Marca, who explained that Chelsea have ‘asked about’ Aurélien Tchouaméni and are ‘looking for a quick decision’ from the AS Monaco star.
Real Madrid are in the picture to sign the midfielder and it was also explained they have asked him to wait for one more year, if he wants to join them.
AS on Wednesday have a report stating that Chelsea are a ‘main rival’ to the La Liga side for the 22-year-old’s signature.
Los Blancos are aware the France international favours joining them, but their main issue is paying the €70-80m fee demanded by the Ligue 1 side. They want Tchouaméni to force the price tag down, to around €50m.
Should this happen, then it will be ‘feasible’ for Real Madrid to sign him, provided some of their own midfielders were to leave the Bernabéu after this season.
Real Madrid, however, won’t have it easy as they will have to ‘compete with big clubs’ like Chelsea for the Monaco star’s signature.
It’s explained Thomas Tuchel’s side are ‘doing the most to sign’ the Frenchman in the summer. Paris Saint-Germain are in the picture, but he wants to ‘try a new experience’, either in England or Spain.
AS have been informed by sources close to Tchouaméni that his decision to leave Monaco has been ‘absolutely made’.
The newspaper adds the future of the player is ‘very close to being resolved’, without detailing where exactly he will end up in the summer.
