Chelsea’s Armando Broja spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Southampton and finished the campaign with nine goals and one assist from 38 matches in all competitions.
The Saints were not given an option to make the striker’s stay permanent and he will have to return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Broja’s performances for Southampton had drawn the attention of several clubs, including those in Serie A, and a few of his suitors have even made proposals to Chelsea.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Blues have declined offers they had received for the Albania international.
Chelsea ‘have decided to bet’ on the 20-year-old as he will be included in Thomas Tuchel’s plans at Stamford Bridge for the new season.
He will join the west London club’s pre-season training and could also play a ‘fundamental role’ in Romelu Lukaku’s future.
The Belgian isn’t happy at the club and various reports have indicated he is keen to return to Inter Milan.
TMW now state Broja’s stay could make it easier for Chelsea to let Lukaku leave this summer.
