Spending the past two seasons away from Stamford Bridge on loan, Chelsea’s Jérémie Boga still retains the trust of everyone at the Premier League club if the latest information from Foot Mercato in France is to be believed.
According to the website, the Blues are currently in talks with the player to extend his deal, which ends in 2019.
The idea would be for him to sign a new four, maybe five, year deal with Chelsea, and then spend next season away on loan again rather than stay in their reserves for a year.
As for where he could go, well, he’s not exactly short of options.
Foot Mercato state that a Premier League, ’top Championship clubs’, Alaves, Leganes, Getafe and Deportivo La Coruña are all interested, while two Bundesliga clubs, Galatasaray, FC Metz and another Ligue 1 club, as well as Bordeaux, have also been keeping an eye on the situation.
The ideal scenario would be for the player to settle in a stable project somewhere, this time without having to deal with a relegation battle, and a return to France is certainly a possibility.
While on loan at Granada last season, the 20-year-old made 27 appearances, scored two goals and picked up one assist.
