Despite the several reports from the English and the Spanish media regarding Chelsea’s pursuit for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, it’s the Italian press who comes up with breaking news today.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio writes that the Blues are closing the signing of the 23-year-old, with very advanced talks with the La Liga side to finalise the deal.
It’s claimed that the figure for the move is of €50m plus bonuses, with the reporter calling it a ‘quick negotiation’, ‘carried out by Chelsea within a few days’.
Di Marzio highlights that after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, the Blues were fast in first landing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and being close on guaranteeing Kounde’s arrival from Sevilla.
And it turns out the Sky Sport journalist isn’t the only one reporting it in Italy, because Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo claims the deal is in ‘closure’ as well.
Without giving many other details, he only writes on Twitter that the transfer is indeed being done for €50m.
In case they’re both right, it shouldn’t take long until the Spanish media confirms the move.
