On Wednesday, Calciomercato stated Chelsea are the ‘first and the most logical solution’ for Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
This report surfaced after claims in the UK talked about the Blues as an option for the striker after his latest fallout with the Serie A winners.
Gazzetta dello Sport have relayed claims made in England about Chelsea’s interest and then give their own take on this case.
It’s claimed the tension between the 24-year-old and the Italian champions doesn’t help in the renewal talks and there’s even a possibility for him to change clubs in January.
Taking this into account, the newspaper explains that a ‘significantly lower figure’ would be enough to take the frontman away from Napoli.
Osimhen was instrumental in helping the club win the title last season and his qualities would be ‘more than useful’ for Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
His side have struggled for goals this season, with the squad lacking a world-class centre forward despite their huge spending in recent windows. Osimhen would fill that void.
If the west London club are keen to sign him, Gazzetta say they could face competition from Al-Hilal, who had already made an attempt to sign the player in the summer transfer window.
