The Portuguese media keeps finding new reasons to link Nelson Semedo to Manchester United.

This time, it’s quotes from José Mourinho saying he would have tried to sign Renato Sanches from Benfica if he had taken charge of the Red Devils earlier.

That’s enough for A Bola to say the Manchester United interest in Semedo should be taken ‘more seriously’.

CapturarThen they recall their stories from January, when Nelson Semedo would be part of the deal which was supposed to include Victor Lindelof.

They claim that although the transfer was not completed at the time, things remain open.

Although it’s not clear who the Manchester United target is, it’s safe to say the club have been watching Semedo week after week, since they always have a scout present at Benfica games.

The newspaper also claims that Chelsea would be keen on the right-back, and could go from spectator to protagonists very quickly. Antonio Conte would have to move in and bypass all the Manchester United links to get Semedo to Chelsea.
