Steven N’Zonzi wanted to leave Sevilla last summer and his decision to make a move away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan was even confirmed by the midfielder’s agent. However, he continued with them for the 2017/18 season and there’s been dramas along the way.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Sevilla’s clash against Alaves could be the last time N’Zonzi will be wearing the Andalusian club shirt.
The report claims the former Blackburn Rovers player’s future is away from his current employers, with Arsenal and Chelsea options for his destination.
Sevilla want to offload N’Zonzi this summer. They’re unhappy with the player for several reasons, including disciplinary issues.
N’Zonzi joined the Spanish side from Stoke City in 2015 and still has two years left on his contract at Sevilla. A return to the Premier League this summer could be on the cards
Chelsea and Arsenal have shown their interest in signing the player. The two London clubs are ‘waiting for a possible negotiation’ with Sevilla for N’Zonzi, who has a release clause of €40 million.
The insinuation is that neither club wants to pay that €40m, so want talks about how low it could go.
