In the last window, claims from France stated that Newcastle United were keen on signing Rayan Cherki, but they didn’t take further steps to carry out the deal. The Magpies are still said to be in the mix and are joined by Chelsea in the chase for the Lyon star.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who mention the Premier League duo when explaining Juventus interest in the 20-year-old. The number of clubs interested in him is growing.
Tutto Juve state the player could change clubs next summer if the Ligue 1 side were to receive an ‘interesting offer’. The France U21 international has a deal lasting until 2025 and the report says he’s valued at over €25m.
Calciomercato state there are ‘too many’ clubs showing interest in Cherki, and It’s explained that the Serie A side have held talks with intermediaries and Lyon emissaries for the Frenchman.
Chelsea and Newcastle will have to step up their efforts if they want to sign Cherki, who can operate as an attacking midfielder and also on both wings.
