Chelsea are among the clubs in the picture for FC Metz’s Lamine Camara, according to a report from France.
The Senegal international has scored a goal and registered two assists from 18 league games this season and this has convinced the Blues, who have already carried out enquiries about him.
That’s according to Le10 Sport, who state Chelsea had initiated contact with both the Ligue 1 side and the midfielder’s camp in January. However, he turned them down.
Camara has made three appearances for his national team at AFCON and starred against Gambia, by scoring a brace. His performances in the tournament and his form for Metz has seen him draw the attention of clubs in England and across Europe.
It’s said several Premier League sides, including Chelsea, as well as Real Betis and Juventus have all positioned themselves for a potential deal.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have included the 20-year-old in their transfer wish list but could find it difficult to sign him.
That’s because a move to the Premier League is not part of Camara’s immediate plans and he wants to continue his development in France, either at Metz or at another club.
