A regular for Watford ever since Daryl Janmaat suffered a knee injury, Kiko Femenia is doing a relatively solid job, having picked up an assist against Huddersfield along the way.
Originally a more attacking player, the 27-year-old has been reconverted to a full-back, and that’s the position not only the Hornets but other teams see him having a future at.
Among those are Valencia in La Liga, according to Marca, who are short at the position there this season, currently using central midfielder Daniel Wass as a stop gap while Cristiano Piccini recovers from an injury.
This scenario has led them to look at their options going forward, which includes potentially making a move for former Manchester United defender Rafael, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Should that fall through, however, then Kiko Femenia would become an option, as Valencia ‘aren’t letting him out of their sights’.
Furthermore, the Watford defender’s price is said to be ‘affordable’ for the La Liga outfit, which will certainly help any potential transfer going forward.
As things stand, it’s Rafael top, but after that, Femenia is on the list.
