Since playing the full 90 minutes against AC Milan in October, Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne has completed a full match only on one occasion and that came against Juventus on December 26th.
Despite the limited playing time, the 23-year-old has managed to attract interest as Celtic are believed to be interested in securing his services in the winter market, according to the report.
Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws claims the Scottish Premiership champions ‘want to take over’ the right-back and the Bhoys are willing to pay €6.7m to the Serie A outfit for his signature.
The fullback’s contract with his current employer runs down in 2020 and the report mentions that his agent will meet the Italian club’s board to discuss about the Belgian’s future.
HLN reports that Atalanta’s intentions are to retain the player beyond the January transfer window.
Having started in only six league games this season, it should be seen whether Castagne and his representative will push for an exit as Brendan Rodgers’ side are keen on signing the former Genk man.
