Dedryck Boyata exit rumours are pretty calm in Europe at the moment. They pop up every couple of days or so but there’s nothing especially strong or concrete out there at the moment.
Tuesday’s edition of Belgian newspaper HLN reports Lazio and Lyon are interested in the Celtic player, but it must be said this isn’t yet being pushed strongly in either the Italian or French media.
In Belgium there’s been all kinds of articles about the world being Boyata’s transfer oyster, but still nothing solid about a specific move.
This is all goods news for Celtic.
Of course, things could change, especially with the window quickly slipping away. HLN states Celtic want to start negotiations imminently and are keen to keep the player around a little longer.
A new contract seems fitting, even if his current wasn’t due to expire next summer, and it’s a wise move for Celtic to get in there before clubs rise and swoop like vultures as the window starts to close.
