Aksam report Celtic have offered €3m to sign Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic, but the Turkish side are demanding £4m for the 32 year old.
Tosic has been linked with Celtic in recent weeks, as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad in this transfer window. Eric Sviatchenko yesterday joined FC Midtjylland on loan, and that now gives Celtic the chance to replace him.
After the arrival of Domagoj Vida this month, Besiktas are ready to listen the offers for Tosic. Earlier this week, we covered the reports from the Turkish press that Stoke City are still in the race for the player and Aksam claim Celtic are leading the way.
Tosic reportedly wants to stay and fight for his spot, but if a good enough offer arrives for him, the’ll consider it with the World Cup just around the corner.
In November we covered reports from the Turkish press that Celtic wanted to bolster their defensive options in January, and Tosic could be brought in by the Scottish Premiership champions.
It was claimed Celtic were ready to table a bid in the region of €3m to sign the former QPR player, which has turned out to be the case.
Tosic’s versatility will not only provide depth in central defence, but can also provide back-up to Celtic’s current first choice left back Kieran Tierney.
