KV Oostende lost 1-0 at home to Anderlecht on Monday, and some of Dedryck Boyata’s family were at the stadium to watch. That’s not a great surprise, people go to watch football matches all over the world.
Boyata was originally frozen out this season by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, but has fought his way back into the team. The 26 year old has a Celtic contract lasting until June 2019, and an exit would require a reasonable transfer fee.
It’s also been suggested Anderlecht could see Boyata as a replacement for Kara Mbodj, who is expected to join a Premier League club this summer.
Moving to Belgium would be a surprise choice for Boyata, if he’s to leave Celtic Park then he’d surely be looking for a more high profile league. If Rodgers continues to show faith in the Belgian, considering clubs like Oostende and Anderlecht may be unlikely.
