Earlier today, we covered what all the Portuguese newspapers have been saying about the saga between Porto and Celtic for the transfer of Olivier Ntcham.
Most of the local media believe that the Dragons will not be able to take the player from the Glasgow side, not only because of the price, but also because he’s set to be offered a new deal.
Now Rádio Renascença comes up with an interesting take on the subject, saying that it’s Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers who’s having a big part in holding the midfielder.
It’s been reported in Scotland that Porto would make a new offer, this time of €16.6m. And Renascença claims that the Bhoys were actually keen on accepting this second bid.
But Rodgers really doesn’t want to lose Ntcham. It’s the manager who convinced Celtic to hold him and offer a contract extension.
As the player is still keen on leaving Celtic to play the Champions League, his renewal with the club is not something certain.
