It appears that Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou is about to make his first move as the club’s new manager on the transfer market.
The man in question is Hajduk Split’s Mario Vuskovic, who has been linked with a transfer to Parkhead for quite some time.
As has been reported elsewhere, there was a belief that Torino were in the lead to sign the young Croatian, but it seems that Celtic are now back in the race, with Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari claiming the Scottish side are ‘ready’ to make an offer.
That will stand at £5m, at least to start with, as it seems unlikely that Hajduk Split will accept the first bid coming their way, and ‘talks are on’ regarding a transfer deal.
We’ll have to wait and see, but it seems matters are already underway in Glasgow to try and close the gap with Rangers after last season’s disappointing campaign, and the first point of order appears to be the defence.
