It’s no secret that Napoli are after a left-back this summer.

The Serie A side have been linked to a few names for the past few months, and as they’re having a hard time to land their favourite targets, they now seem to look for some alternatives.

Napoli were recently after Benfica’s Nuno Tavares, with reports from Portugal today saying their bid wasn’t good enough to convince the Eagles, and Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.

So now according to Radio Kiss Kiss (via Mundo Napoli), the Italian club now have another player from the Blues as an alternative. That’s Davide Zappacosta.

Napoli reportedly consider Zappacosta to be a man who can cover both sides of the pitch ‘in an excellent way’, and wouldn’t be an expensive signing for the club, especially in case they can get to a deal for a loan.

Signed by Chelsea in 2017, the fullback spent the last two seasons far from the Stamford Bridge, first with a spell at Roma and now at Genoa. His contract with the Blues expires next year.
