Both Celtic and Rangers are eyeing up a move for Feyenoord midfielder Renato Tapia this summer when he becomes a free agent.
The Costa Rican midfielder is set to leave the Dutch club this summer after four years when his contract expires on June 30th, with him confirming they have no intention of offering a new deal.
He is now looking for his next destination, according to Libero, and his options are not ‘few and far between’ with Neil Lennon’s Celtic and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers joining others in Europe and America eyeing up a move.
There are several teams who would be ‘delighted’ to sign him, and two of those are in the Scottish Premiership.
According to the newspaper, Celtic and Rangers are both among his suitors and would ‘welcome’ his arrival.
They are looking to sign a ‘top-class midfielder’ to bolster their ranks this summer, and his arrival would ‘go down like a charm’.
At the moment there has been no contact with either Celtic or Rangers, who are seemingly just eyeing up a potential free transfer rather than making their move.
Tapia, for his part, is ‘looking at all his options’ for next season before deciding where to go, presumably waiting to see if either of the Scottish Premiership teams come forward.
