Optimism is gone, and the Portuguese press now believes that it will be very hard for Porto to get the signing of Olivier Ntcham from Celtic.
Newspapers A Bola and O Jogo both have the word ‘difficult’ in their headlines about the chase today. Despite being very positive about the move in the past few weeks, they now don’t believe it’s happening.
The outlets claim that Ntcham still wants the move, as he’s keen on playing in the Champions League for the Dragons this season.
But the problem continues to be his price. It seems unlikely that Porto will pay over €15m for the midfielder, and that’s what Celtic are said to be demanding.
Meanwhile, Ntcham continues to be featuring for Celtic normally. He’s made 10 appearances for the club this season so far, and has three goals and one assist.
The player has a contract with the Scottish side until 2021, and as things stand, it seems he’s staying at the club for at least one more year.
