Over the pat few months, we’ve covered a bit about KAS Eupen’s Henry Onyekuru, but never a transfer story.
The articles have normally been about the player’s desire to one day play for Arsenal, a club he grew up watching, idolising Thierry Henry along the way.
However, according to RTBF in Belgium, the player might have his platform to one day play for Arsène Wenger’s side, with an apparent approach from Celtic.
The Belgian website claim the player will not be playing on Thursday night against Standard Liège, disappointed at how Eupen have dealt with various offers made for him, including the one from Celtic Park.
RTBF even go as far as claiming the Jupiler Pro League side don’t actually know where the winger currently is, as he tries to force a move away.
Details of Celtic’s offer are also revealed, with Brendan Rodgers’ side reportedly offering €1.5m for the 19-year-old, an offer Eupen have rejected for now.
Even if a move to Celtic Park would make sense for the player at this stage in his career, considering the form he has been in, his current side do not want to sell him midway through the season unless they can get €4m for him.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in the player, yet you feel that if the forward wants to one day play for Arsenal, game time will be key in his development, something he might not get at Anfield.
If Celtic can offer €4m, the player is theirs, it seems.
