Celtic are reportedly one of the clubs in the race for Lommel midfielder Vinicius Souza.
The battle to sign the 22-year-old is today detailed by Dutch journalist Marco Timmer, who claims there are many sides who’d like to land the player this summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic are said to be alongside the likes of PSV, Club Brugge, Fenerbahce and Ajax, with them all getting interested in the season he’s just had for Lommel.
A full story on Voetbal International points out the ‘fierce competition’ for the signing, but they’re mostly focused on the pursuit made by the Eindhoven side.
PSV are said to be willing to buy Souza on a permanent transfer, but that’s still ‘unclear whether that’s feasible’.
The main reason for it is because the City Group, who own Lommel, would rather send him on loan.
Not spending a lot to land the midfielder may be a good scenario for Celtic, but for that to happen, the most worrying fact here seems to be the big competition for him, especially from Eredivisie giants.
