According to a claim in the Greek media, Celtic are interested in signing Panathinaikos midfielder Giannis Bouzoukis.

Sdna.Gr report Celtic have been following the 21 year old closely since the start of the season, and they will continue to do so as Neil Lennon looks to add to his squad.

According to the Greek website, last month Celtic scouts watched him in action when he played for Greece’s U21 team against Scotland’s U21s in Edinburgh.

In addition, the Scottish Premiership champions also monitored his performance last weekend when his side Panathinaikos faced Lamia in the Greek Super league.

Sdna claim Celtic’s head of football operations Nick Hammond has also been personally following the player, and it seems he’s been impressed with the youngster’s performances.

Celtic reportedly see Bouzokoukis as a ‘modern offensive midfielder’ who can excel in different positions.

The Panathinaikos academy graduate has made 15 appearances in all competitions for his club this season and is under contract until June 2022.
