Celtic are one of several clubs interested in a move for Gladbach’s Hannes Wolf, who could be on his way out of the club.
That’s according to BILD, who say the player’s lack of appearances under coach Adi Hütter means the German side are open to a deal for the ‘offensive all-rounder’, with Celtic in the picture to sign him.
After featuring heavily at the beginning of the season, Wolf has found himself out of the picture of late, with just one short appearance over eight minutes in the last seven games.
Wolf had been a regular under former coach Marco Rose after making his loan move from last season a permanent one in the summer.
Hütter, though, ‘has no use’ for Wolf in his three-man system, so that has opened the door for a move away.
Reports in Turkey have indicated that Trabzonspor are interested in the 22-year-old, and he is one of the reinforcements they could look to make.
According to BILD’s information, though, they are not the only ones keen with Celtic and Rapid Wien also ‘interested’ in the attacking midfielder, who they describe as an ‘offensive all-rounder.’
Whether Celtic have made any moves to make a deal happen isn’t made clear, nor is what Gladbach would look for.
They paid €9.5m in the summer, though, so they would presumably want to make as much of that back as they could in any deal.
It’s hard to believe that’s a sum Celtic would be open to paying, with it not an area of great concern right now.
BILD say they’re interested, however, so we’ll keep an eye on more developments as the January transfer window gets closer to opening.
