Celtic and Aston Villa have reportedly joined the list of clubs who are interested in Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
The defender has been linked to many clubs lately, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan being frequently mentioned.
Now A Bola says that Aston Villa and Celtic sent scouts to the Portuguese league match between Benfica and Braga on Monday especially to watch the Swedish international.
Although the list of spies had been revealed on Monday, it took a couple of days until the media found out who these clubs were watching.
Vcitor Lindelof is reportedly negotiating a new deal with Benfica. The main reason for that is because the player has a €30m release clause, which is considered to be far too low for someone with his qualities. So the Portuguese side want to protect him from leaving for this price as soon as possible.
Given the previous clubs linked, it would be a surprise if Lindelof did eventually end up at Celtic or Aston Villa, so perhaps A Bola are a little off with this one.
