Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Walter Zenga has told the Italian media he doesn’t expect to manage Inter Milan in the future. The former Italy international spent 14 seasons with Inter Milan, making over 300 league appearances.

Speaking to Inter.it, Zenga was asked if he would consider being the coach of Inter Milan in the future.

The Wolves boss said he was given the opportunity to coach a team in Italy, but doesn’t think he was ever considered for the Inter Milan job. Zenga revealed it is something he has thought about in the past, but believes the time is no longer right for his return.

“I had the opportunity to coach a team in Italy, but that probably would not have given me the opportunity to be considered for the Inter bench. However, it is something I have thought about, but I think the right time has past,” said the Wolves manager on returning to the San Siro one day.

Zenga was installed as the new Wolves manager in the summer following the takeover at the club. The Italian spent heavily in the transfer window, with super-agent Jorge Mendes helping to bring in players from Portugal.
