Celta Vigo are interested in Southampton pair Oriel Romeu and Sofiane Boufal as they look for reinforcements this month.
That’s according to Faro de Vigo, who say the Spanish club are following Southampton ‘closely’ as they eye up two Saints men to improve their team.
The first of those is Boufal, who they are looking at to help improve a forward line that has managed just 16 goals in 19 games so far, the joint second lowest in the division.
Boufal spent last season on loan with the Spanish club, managing three goals and four assists in 35 games and they would welcome him back for a second stint.
Alongside improving their forward line, Celta are also considering another ‘defensive pivot’ to their midfield and Boufal’s Southampton teammate Romeu is ‘among the options’ they are considering.
The 28-year-old is well-liked at Celta, although at the moment they are ‘not clear’ about whether they want to reinforce in midfield this month.
