Earlier on Monday, pictures emerged from Barcelona of Ariedo Braida, a club director, walking into offices with Juan de Dios Crespo.
The latter is a lawyer, best known for his involvement in Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to PSG. It was he who was pictured at the time of the move, arriving at La Liga’s offices wearing a panama hat, and getting ready to deposit the Brazilian’s buyout clause.
Given the current efforts to get Neymar back at Barcelona, Monday’s meeting led to wide assumptions that this was all part of the current efforts, with Juan de Dios Crespo presumably working on behalf of the PSG player.
The Catalan radio station reports that Barcelona are working on Braida’s exit, and that was the reason for the meeting.
Braida’s departure is being negotiated, and legal representation was needed. There’s no clarity on whether Juan de Dios Crespo was representing Barcelona or their latest outgoing director.
