AMK Spor claim Australian side Sydney FC are set to rival Cardiff City for the signature of Besiktas forward Alvaro Negredo.
Besiktas want the former Spain international off their wage bill due to their financial situation.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey that Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has set his sights on Negredo but AMK Spor today report they are likely to face competition from Sydney.
Negredo is expected to leave the club as he’s also been linked with a move to Rayo Vallecano in the past, along with Celta Vigo.
On Monday the Turkish press reported Cardiff City want to add Negredo to their squad and that they are ready to offer €3m to Besiktas.
Negredo has been unable to adapt in Turkey following his move from Valencia last summer, and only managed to score 7 league goals in the last campaign.
