Much of the football world was glued to the TV on Wednesday evening to watch Lucas Moura break Ajax hearts and send Tottenham to the Champions League final.
The Brazilian just wouldn’t give up and his hat-trick for Spurs will go down as one of the most effective performances in the history of the competition.
He’s getting praise all over the world, and French newspaper L’Equipe gave him a 10/10 rating… making him only the tenth player to ever get one.
Excitement around Moura is huge, but just imagine if you were his father.
Rodrigues De Silva has been speaking to radio, with the comments picked up by CalcioNapoli24 because he mentioned the Naples club.
The proud father explained: “I’m very happy with what my son did with Tottenham, we still don’t believe it. Lucas believed in it like the rest of them, we were glued to the TV at home, and I can’t explain this moment in words. It’s all so extraordinary.
“Football is made of moments, and you have to be good at taking advantage of it, which Lucas did.”
Rodrigues explained he’s unsure whether his son will play in the final, but after what happened last night it’s going to be near impossible for Mauricio Pochettino to leave the player out.
On Napoli trying to sign him when Tottenham did, the father said Spurs were already advanced with the talks by the time the Italian side showed up.
